This project involved extensive alterations and additions to the “Greenkeepers Cottage”, a semi detached cottage, which is one of a group of four heritage listed cottages in Gouldsbury Street.

The urban form of the cottage in a garden setting has been retained by restoring the heritage character of the original and adding new work totally behind it, allowing the open garden along the side of the cottage to be retained.
The new rear is a contemporary character which successfully references traditional forms and materials in a more modern building form. Internal spaces are open and light with excellent solar access and ventilation.
Planning of new areas maximises solar gain and views while connecting existing and new living spaces to the garden surrounding the building.
Neighbours views and solar access are maintained by the planning form.
